TALLAHASSEE — This holiday season, as friends and families across Florida gather to celebrate and exchange gifts, the Florida Lottery reminds players that while Lottery tickets make exciting gifts for adults, they are not suitable for children. The Florida Lottery encourages everyone to “Gift Responsibly” and help prevent underage gaming.

“Playing Florida Lottery games is good fun that helps fund education across our state,” said Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis. “But it’s important to remember that while our games bring enjoyment to adults, they are not intended for children. We want to make sure everyone celebrates the holidays responsibly.”

Florida Lottery games are designed to be good fun, a form of entertainment that gives back to Florida’s students through contributions to education. While tickets can be festive and fun stocking stuffers, it’s important to remember that Florida law prohibits the sale of Lottery tickets to anyone under the age of 18. Parents and other adults are encouraged to keep Florida Lottery tickets out of the hands of minors.

The Gift Responsibly message is part of the Florida Lottery’s ongoing commitment to promoting responsible play year-round. The initiative aligns with the National Council on Problem Gambling’s annual “Gift Responsibly Campaign,” a nationwide collaborative effort among lotteries across the country to raise awareness about the risks of youth gambling and to encourage responsible gift-giving.
