GLADES COUNTY – Lakefront Estates, a planned community on 550 acres off State Road 78 west of Buckhead Ridge in Glades County, is under construction.
According to the lakefrontestates.com website, the community will include its own 800,000-square foot shopping center, a grocery store, a medical center and schools.
Home designs range from the Ranch, a single-level 4-bedroom house with 2.5 baths, to the Majestic, a two-story house with 7 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.
Two-story townhouses will each have 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms.
The plan is to open with 150 families and to start an elementary school right away.
The medical center will have adult and pediatric doctors, comprehensive dental care and a women’s health center.
The investors have arranged for a fully stocked Hatzolah Garage to be set up. A Hatzolah Garage is a Jewish volunteer emergency medical service organization.
According to the website, there are also plans to create Chaverim and Shomrim organizations. A Chaverim is an Orthodox Jewish volunteer organization that provides roadside assistance and non-medical emergency help. A Shomrim is a neighborhood watch group.
There will be a Simcha hall in the school building, for weddings and other events. A Simcha hall is a venue specifically designed for hosting celebrations in the Jewish community.
