Glades County Road Watch for week beginning Feb. 2

GLADES COUNTY — The following column is the Road Watch report for Glades County for the week beginning Monday, Feb. 2, provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.

Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

• U.S. 27 (S.R. 25) at S.R. 78 Intersection: Construction project: Crews will be reconstructing the intersection with concrete pavement. Other improvements include milling, resurfacing, drainage, guardrail, signing, and pavement markings. Please use caution in the area and watch for workers, traffic signage, detours, and equipment throughout the project.

  • Intermittent lane closures will occur on S.R. 78 and U.S. 27 from Jan. 5 through Feb. 15, 2026, to accommodate concrete grinding and moving thermoplastic operations.
  • Motorists should use caution, follow posted signage, and watch for workers and equipment in the area.
  • Estimated completion is early 2026.
