MOORE HAVEN -- Glades County Commissioners approved an increase in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) billing rates during their Aug. 24 meeting.
Mileage rates will increase from $13.20 per mile to $13.86 per mile.
BLS Emergency rate will increase from $503.96 to $525.
ALS Emergency Level 2 rate will increase from $865.38 to $910.
Treatment without transport, which was previously free, will cost $75 for BLS, $125 for ALS and $20 for oxygen.
BLS Emergency refers to an emergency that requires basic life support.
ALS Emergency refers to a severe or rapidly progressing deterioration in a person’s condition that requires advanced medical care. A Level 2 ALS emergency involves advanced life support, including IV medications or procedures such as intubation or defibrillation.
