At its February meeting, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) approved rule changes related to the 2026-27 hunting season, including specific regulations on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) and Wildlife Environmental Areas (WEAs). The rule change proposals were based on requests from staff, cooperators and stakeholders, and summaries of all proposed rule amendments were provided to the public online beginning Aug. 28, 2025, resulting in over 18,000 responses.
