Black History Month Family Fun day set for Feb. 23

The Norton Museum of Art, 1450 S. Dixie Hwy., is hosting Black History Family Day on Saturday Feb. 23, from noon to 5 p.m. The free event will feature tours with Museum docents, art-making workshops, literary discussions, musical performances and African American artists telling their stories.

Free transportation is being provided for the senior population (55 and over) from the Glades area, Lake Worth and Delray. Bus transportation will leave at 10:30 a.m. from 341 S.E. Second Street in Belle Glade (behind Bank of Belle Glade). Expected pickup time in Delray will be at 10:30 a.m. Pickup location in Delray is 1101 N.W. Second Street in Delray Beach (in the parking lot of Pompey Park). Expected pickup time in Lake Worth is 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the Osborne Center 1699 Wingfield Street, Lake Worth. Interested Seniors that will utilize the transportation, should secure their seats by calling Willie A. Miller, Jr. at 561-386-9897 (Coordinator, Western Palm Beach County), C. Ron Allen at 561-665-0151 (South County), and Delorisa Brown 561-253-5920 (Lake Worth).

Departure from Norton will be at 5 p.m. Refreshments are available for sale.
