Black Gold Jubilee royalty crowned

BELLE GLADE — The Miss Black Gold Jubilee Pageant took place on Saturday, March 30, at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center. The pageant is divided into four separate age groups. Ages 3-4 are the Tiny Division, ages 5-6 are the Little Division, ages 7-9 are the Mini Division, and ages 10-12 are the Tween Division. The pageant is sponsored by the Black Gold Jubilee Committee.

The Little Division winners are Austin Haulcomb and Kaydee Butts.



The Tiny Division winners are John Larsen and Melanie Reyes.



The Mini Division winners are Bentley Peaden and Blake Browder.



The Tween Division winner is Alyssa Brewer.



Belle Glade’s annual Black Gold Jubilee is set for this Saturday, April 6. Festival events include a 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run at 7 a.m. on Torry Island; a parade on Main Street steps off at 10 a.m. The festival continues on Torry Island with arts and crafts booths, a classic car show, a green market and more. Free concerts will be given in the Lakeside Amphitheater on Torry Island. At 5:30 p.m., Night Moves (The Ultimate Bob Seger Tribute Band) will perform, and at 7:30 p.m., John Michael Montgomery will follow. There will be a spectacular fireworks show at dusk.
