Belle Glade woman dies in traffic crash

BELLE GLADE — A Belle Glade woman died in a traffic crash in the 35200 block of State Road 80 in Belle Glade on Thursday, May 9.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office press release stated that at approximately 12:45 p.m. a 2000 Toyota Avalon operated by Camille Bedward, 38, of Belle Glade, was traveling westbound on State Road in the inside lane behind a 2016 Hyundai Sonata operated by Chris-Anne Ayers, of Royal Palm Beach. At the same time a 2018 Nissan Rogue operated by Trecia Bryson, of Port St. Lucie, was traveling eastbound on State Road 80 in the inside lane ahead of a 2004 Toyota Avalon operated by Samantha Emanuelle, of Lake Worth.

The Ms. Bedward’s Toyota was traveling at a high rate of speed and crashed into the rear of the Hyundai, according to the PBSO report. The 2000 Toyota was redirected to the left and crossed the grassy median into the eastbound lane and crashed into the front of the Nissan. The 2000 Toyota continued to cross the eastbound lanes. into the path of the Ms. Emanuelle’s Toyota, causing the 2004 Toyota to crash into the rear passenger side of the 2000 Toyota.

It was reported that Ms. Bedward, was pronounced deceased on scene by the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

Ms. Bryson transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with serious injuries sustained in the crash.
