Dr. Heidi Radunovich at the University of Florida is currently recruiting for a research study to help better serve Florida’s rural veterans.
Researchers are having a had a hard time finding younger veterans to participate in the study and have asked 4-H Clubs to spread the word to members who parents may be veterans.
The goal is to learn about the health and mental health needs of rural veterans and their families in order to determine service gaps and to increase the availability of health and mental health prevention programs.
Researchers are seeking U.S. military veterans and/or their spouses to participate in a 30-min interview regarding health and mental health needs in rural areas. Participants are sought from Glades, Hendry and Okeechobee counties.
Participants will receive a $25 gift card in compensation for participating in the interview. All interviews are confidential, and individual information will not be shared with the VA (only overall results).
Interested individuals should contact Terasa Younker via email to tyounker@ufl.edu or Heidi Radunovich via email to hliss@ufl.edu.
