OKEECHOBEE – A trail ride to raise money for the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Shop With a Cop program is planned for Sunday, Dec. 18 at Grassy Island MTB Trail, 1901 Hilliard Road, in Okeechobee.
Registration is $20 per person, which includes a pig roast and swamp cabbage lunch. Participants are also asked to each bring a new, unwrapped toy. For an extra $5, riders can participate in a poker run in which they will collect playing cards along the trail. When they finish the ride, the rider with the best hand will win a prize.
The event will also include hay and tack raffles.
Proceeds from Trot for Toys will go the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Shop With a Cop program, in which deputies take underpriviledged children on a holiday shopping spree,
