OKEECHOBEE -- On Tuesday, Feb.21, Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call referencing a concern regarding a teacher, Paige Leduc, 26, and a minor child.    

The complainant alleged that  Leduc has had or is having a romantic relationship with the minor.   While investigating the complaint,  it was learned that  Leduc and the minor child met at an Okeechobee County School.   A romantic relationship then reportedly began, and continued until the two became sexually involved.  

After a thorough investigation by the detective assigned,   Leduc was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, and transported to the Okeechobee County Jail where she is charged with violation of Florida State Statute 794.05, Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors.    There was no information indicating that the sexual occurrences took place on school property.
