Bob Spano has worked for the Collier County Public School District for over 30 years. He is a native of Ohio. In his early years of teaching in Ohio, he found his way to Naples for a job and the sunshine. He came to the Guadalupe Center with lots of knowledge and caring for the community. Mr. Spano stated the mission of the center is to break the cycle of poverty, through Education. Under his leadership they are focusing on a child’s early education which hopefully will close the achievement gap and get college success with each child enrolled into the center. The program has proven to break the cycle of poverty and provide the children of Immokalee with the hopes of a prosperous and productive life. The program starts from VPK to High School The Guadalupe Center has many community partners who work with them to accomplish their goals. They also have an After School Programs managed by Ms. Sheila Oxx who is a native of New Jersey and lots of energetic High School students who tutor the young kids. The Immokalee Guadalupe Center was founded in 1982. Call Radio Station FM 90,5 highlighted the Guadalupe Center recently for all the community services it provides to the community of Immokalee.
