The Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation was thrilled to attend the 2025 Rural Counties Day event in Tallahassee, Florida. 

Twenty-nine rural Florida counties were in Tallahassee for the seventh annual Rural County Days at the Capitol. More than 560 registered attendees were at the event, which was created to allow rural counties to advocate for their legislative priorities 

Okeechobee was well represented by a variety of organizations at the Rural Counties Day event at the Florida State Capital. The Corporation attended alongside members of the Okeechobee Board of County Commissioners, Okeechobee County, the Economic Council of Okeechobee, the Education Foundation of Okeechobee, the Okeechobee County Tourist Development Council and the Chamber of Commerce of Okeechobee County. 

Kaylee, Alex and Caroline were able to network with representatives from fellow rural counties as well as fields like aviation, business and government during the reception at the Florida State University Dunlap Champions Club.
