Lunar Eclipse over LaBelle

Posted

LABELLE — This photo of a Lunar Eclipse over LaBelle was taken at 3:22 a.m. on March 14 during the totality phase, with the stars 89 Leonis and HIP 56388 to the right, and the white dot on the northwest side of the Moon being the crater Aristarchus. The red glow is due to sunlight refracting through the Earth’s atmosphere onto the Moon creating a sunset all around the Earth from the Moon’s perspective. [Photo by Anthony A. Narehood]
