ORLANDO – Looking for a gift for an outdoor enthusiast? How about a Lifetime Sportsman’s License or an annual pass to Florida State Parks.
As part of the Great Outdoors Initiative, now through Jan. 13, FWC is offering a 50% discount on Florida State Park annual passes, as well as a 50% discount on Gold Sportsman’s licenses for those under age 65.
Discounted prices are:
The Lifetime Gold Sportsman's License includes Hunting, Freshwater Fishing and Saltwater Fishing licenses; and Deer, Wildlife Management Area, Archery, Muzzleloading Gun, Crossbow, Turkey, Florida Waterfowl, Snook and Lobster permits.
The lifetime Sportsman license for those age 65 and older is $351.50 plus applicate fees.
Customers can purchase the discounted Lifetime Sportsman License online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com, in person at a tax collector’s office, or through the Fish|Hunt FL App on Apple and Android devices.
Funding from the sale of lifetime licenses are invested, creating an endowment to support conservation. Only the interest from the trust fund is appropriated, with the principal held in perpetuity to ensure long-term funding for conservation programs. This endowment ensures that Florida's natural resources are conserved today and for the future.
Lifetime licenses remain valid for use in Florida even if the license holder moves out of the state.
According to information shared at the FWC Dec. 5 meeting, more than 36,000 discount licenses have been sold since the promotion started in October.
FWC Commission Chair Rodney Barreto said he purchased lifetime licenses for his grandchildren. “I encourage everybody to do it,” he said.
Florida State Park annual passes are available for purchase at all Florida State Parks.
