LHS top graduates 2016 and Graduation Activities

LaBelle High School is very pleased to announce LaBelle High School’s 2016 Valedictorian Hugo Vargas, and Salutatorian Matthew Reyna.

Valedictorian Hugo Vargas is the son of Victoria Mata and Hugo Vargas, Sr. Hugo is graduating with honors, Summa Cum Laude, which requires a 4.0 and higher grade point average (GPA). Hugo’s GPA is 4.8+. He has participated in football, baseball and basketball. He is an active member of the National Honor Society and is currently serving as NHS vice-president. Hugo challenged himself by taking Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Hugo was the recipient of the prestigious Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award. He has completed 109 hours of volunteer service hours. In the fall, Hugo will attend Florida State University to prepare for a career in the medical field.

Salutatorian Matthew Reyna is the son of Betsy Villarreal and Jessie Reyna. Matthew is graduating with honors, Summa Cum Laude, which requires a 4.0 and higher grade point average (GPA). Matthew’s GPA is 4.8+. Matthew is an active member of the National Honor Society. He has completed 536 hours of volunteer services hours. Matthew has taken numerous Honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as dual enrollment courses at Florida SouthWestern State College. In the fall, Matthew will attend Florida State University where he will prepare for a career in Actuarial Science.

The LaBelle High School Class of 2016 will be graduating this weekend.

Parents, students, and community members are cordially invited to attend.

May 19 Baccalaureate 7 p.m. (Senior arrival time 6:15) LHS Auditorium

May 20 Graduation practice (7:45 a.m.) LHS Gym

May 21 Graduation 8 a.m. (Senior arrival time 7 a.m.) LHS Football Stadium

May 21 Project Graduation 9 p.m. - 5 a.m. LHS

As a reminder - LHS Project Graduation will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 5 a.m. at LaBelle High School. Seniors must arrive by midnight to be allowed entrance.
