Gorgeous women wearing beautiful clothes is always a winning combination. This was very apparent to the eye at the Legacy Moss Landing (Aqua Isles) 2018 Style Show held on March 1.
Fashions through the Decades was the theme with clothes, jewelry and other accessories from the 1880s through 1970s.
Music filled the air with a quartet singing songs for everyone’s enjoyment. They started with Yankee Doodle of which early versions of this song are dated back before the Seven Years’ War and the American Revolution (1775-83). They sang favorites of everyone such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Sentimental Journey” and ended with Three Dog Night’s 1970s classic “Joy to the World.”
Fashions from each of the decades were modeled by the ladies. Music from their particular decade was played to enhance each model’s walk down the runway. The models’ clothes and accessories were furnished by James and Darien Workman of The Curiosity Shop in Fort Myers.
Attendees at this function also got involved in the festivities. There were tables of about eight women each representing a particular decade or event in that decade. There was a Roaring 20s, an American Bandstand, and a Rosie the Riveter table just to name a few. These ladies also dressed according to their decade.
With the fashion show over, it was time for lunch. The ladies decided there wouldn’t be any catering done this year, and that they could handle the lunch themselves - and they did! The fabulous food was served “family” style by waiters (men from the park).
Beautiful women, magnificent clothes and accessories, and men waiting on everyone, what a way to spend a few hours! Guess this could be considered being in “Hog Heaven!”
