Jasmine Nicklos, a bright, beautiful, and hardworking LaBelle High School student, is the newly crowned Florida International Barrel Racing Association 2D Youth Champion. She is a hardworking and dedicated equestrian, who spends at least four days a week exercising her 7-year-old rescue horse, Suspicious Behavior.

Tara Nicklos, Jasmine’s mother, says, “She is very grateful for her win because there are lots of very talented youth Barrel racers in the area. Suspicious always gives his best and loves Jasmine.”

Suspicious, who is blind in one eye, came from what is known as a “kill pen” and was destined for slaughter, until the Nicklos family found and purchased him. He arrived at their property malnourished and needing a lot of extra care. He has since blossomed, and the two have developed into quite an amazing duo. Watching these two together, it’s immediately apparent that they have a very special bond. The classic pairing of a girl and her horse.

“I’m proud of him. He puts his heart into every run,” says Jasmine.

While her main hobby is barrel racing, and she dedicates most of her time to practicing for upcoming races, this A-B student puts her education first. She also enjoys traveling and riding dirt bikes. She will be attending LaBelle High School this year.
