Kathryn “Kathy” Womble died September 18, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1957 in Avon Park, Florida. She was raised in Okeechobee however in the recent years she traveled between Okeechobee and Alabama. She attended Everglades Baptist Church, and she was also a member of the Special Olympics and Social Butterflies. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, bowling, puzzles, especially word find books, and playing with her cats and chickens.
Kathy made friends everywhere she went. To meet her was to love her, she always had a smile on her face.
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Edwina Batton; and brother, Edward “Bibo” Womble.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Timmy Womble, of Florida, Robert Miller, of Tennessee, Michael Miller (Channon), Gary “Sport” Womble (Samantha), all of Florida, Grady Worth (Tiffany), of Arkansas, Daniel Womble (Vennessa), of Kentucky, David Womble (Rebekah), of Georgia, Tonya Goodwin (Darrell), of Florida, Tara Mkwamba (Jack), of Alabama, Jamie Knickerbocker (Luke), of Florida, Jenna Corbitt (Bradley), of Florida, Kimberly Hoglo (Jeremy), of Florida, Wesley Womble (Jessie), of New Jersey, Barry Womble (Savannah), of South Carolina, and Katie Miller, of Florida; brothers, Gary Womble, of Florida, William Womble (Leigh), of South Carolina, and James Womble (Cathy), of Florida; sisters, Cecilia Miller (Tony), of Florida, and Regina Worth (Terry), of Alabama; many-many great nieces and nephews; and close friends, Tracy Nipper, Lucy Wentz, Janet, Joey and Ashley Berry.
Visitation will be held 2 p.m. until service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at Buxton Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
