FORT PIERCE — The Indian River State College (IRSC) Performing Arts Program welcomes audiences back to enjoy shows by the college’s storied program. New productions that range from comedies, dramas, concerts and vocal performances have been planned with precautions in place for seating at safe distances. Some productions will feature outdoor and indoor performances. A complete list of shows can be found at www.irsc.edu/student-life/arts-and-culture.
The first such show, the musical production “Triumph of Love,” took place on Feb. 18, 19 and 20. More than 300 guests were able to spread out in socially distanced comfort around the gazebo located on the Massey Campus green just outside the McAlpin Center for Performing Arts to enjoy the production.
“Many of our patrons shared with us that this was the first time they have been out to see anything since last March and expressed their appreciation for the outdoor performance,” stated Becky Shearer, IRSC Theatre Manager. “We are so pleased to know they enjoyed the new material and the remarkable talent demonstrated by our students to pull off such challenging material.”
Shows offer limited seating availability, and patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Online ticket purchasing is currently not available.
To purchase tickets, or for questions about upcoming shows, visit the IRSC Box Office staff Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or send emails to boxoffice@irsc.edu or call 1-800-220-9915.
