FORT BASINGER — April 12 and 13 provided beautiful weather for the Heritage Festival at the Edna Pearce Lockett Estate, located on the corner of Hwy 98 N and State Road 721 in Fort Basinger.
The festival celebrated the homestead’s 150th anniversary. Visitors enjoyed tours of the historic home, which has been furnished in period style.
The festival featured entertainment, demonstrations of quilting and blacksmithing, craft booths, food trucks and more.
Sons of the American Revolution provided the Color Guard.
Florida Atlantic University staff from the Riverwoods Field Lab offered pontoon boat tours of part of the restored portion of the Kissimmee River.
Local car enthusiasts brought their vehicles out for a car show.
