At approximately 10:00 p.m., Hendry County Deputies were out at M&M Store located at 944 Kentucky Ave., Clewiston, speaking to individuals that were in the area. While there Deputy Sheriff Jayson Moorehead had been speaking with an individual. At that time the shooter fired four shots at the deputy striking him in the upper left arm.
The deputy was transported to a trauma center and is reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators are currently speaking with a person of interest. Updates will be posted as they become available.
