PAHOKEE-Pahokee Middle-Senior High School football coach Emmanuel Hendrix has been relieved of his duties.
Pahokee principal Dwayne Dennard announced the change in a press release on March 9. Assistant principal Brian Lawson said that “the athletic administration staff at Pahokee Middle-Senior High School would like to thank coach Hendrix for his dedication to the program”.
The school says that daily workouts and other team activities will continue as planned and that they would be sharing their hiring timeline and sending out a survey for parent and player input soon.
The firing comes two weeks after the Florida High School Athletic Association gave Hendrix a six-week suspension starting in the upcoming spring football season for allegedly violating FHSAA Policy 36.2.2 Improper Contact, or recruiting.
Hendrix was hired in 2021 to replace outgoing coach D.J. Boldin. Hendrix graduated from Pahokee in 1998 and was the defensive coordinator for the Blue Devils under coach Boldin before he left to coach football at Lake Erie College. Boldin recommended Hendrix as his choice to replace him to Pahokee principal Dwayne Dennard.
