Sheriff Stuart Whiddon On Saturday, August 29, the Glades County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the area of the Port LaBelle Marina in reference to a shooting which had just occurred.
During the investigation it was learned that the victim, Robert E. Kunkle, age 59, had been shot several times about the head and arm.
Kunkle was transported and later released with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect, later identified as Gary Wisemandle, also 59, was located on scene and later taken into custody.
Wisemandle was charged with Attempted Murder, Criminal Attempt and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Wisemandle is being held at the Glades County Jail without bond.
Detective Sergeant Sherley is still investigating the case.
