Fun for all at LDRC’s Fall Festival

The LaBelle Downtown Revitalization Corporation and MOPS of LaBelle threw an awesome 2019 Fall Festival, featuring an all new “Touch-a-Truck”event, along with the annual tradition of “Scarecrows on the Wharf.” Families flocked to the Barron Library parking lot to get a chance to collect treats and Touch-a-Truck. So many costumed kids, some scary, some adorable, were seen parading around from the trucks and treats and onto the scarecrows.

The esteemed judges, Marco Ruiz, Sydney Roper and Billy Griffin definitely had their work cut out for them as the competition really heated up this year, amongst the Scarecrows on the Wharf. They deliberated, then handed out the trophies to the winners. First place went to LaBelle Silver Spurs, second place to LaBelle Fossil Camp, and third place was awarded to Rick’s Barber Shop, while the coveted People’s Choice Award went to Riverside Real Estate.

“Thank you to everyone that took the time to create a scarecrow. They were all amazing and the judges said they had a tough time since they were all incredibly creative!!” wrote Kelly Boone, on the LRDC’s Facebook post.

LDRC has so many awesome events coming up, from Downtown Live on November 1 to Cash Mob on November 2, and the much anticipated Wharf Walk on November 9. There is still time to enter wearable art for Wharf Walk! If interested, contact Kelly Boone at 863-225-2749 or kelly@downtownlabelle.com to learn more.
