The Florida Preferential Preference Primary will be held in March. That election will also include Belle Glade and Pahokee City Commission races.
In the Belle Glade City Commission race for Seat C, incumbent Joaquin Almazan is challenged by Robert C. Mitchell. In the race for Seat D, incumbent Mary Ross Wilkerson is challenged by Tequella Collins.
In the Pahokee City Commission Group 1 race, incumbent Juan “Johnny” Gonzalez is challenged by Monique Gordon and Everett D. McPherson. In the Pahokee City Commission Group 2 race, incumbent Sara Perez is challenged by Tiana Mitchell and Sanquetta Cowan-Williams. Because there are more than two candidates in these races. If a candidate receives at least 50% plus one vote, the candidate will be declared the winner of that race. If none of the candidates receive at least 50% plus one vote, a runoff election will be held on Tuesday, April 2.
