Seniors Mariannys Ramones and Sheila Anaya, and sophomore Aleah Baron all broke school records in their weight class during the event.
The Cowgirls are coming off a season last year where they won a district championship and advanced to the regional tournament.
Last year’s district championship win was the fifth time the LaBelle girls have claimed the title, but the first year they did it in the 2A classification. Individual District champions that year were seniors Journey Vidaurri, and Jacquelin Baltazar, juniors Emma Willis and Mariannys Ramones, and sophomores Calia White and Isabella Perez.
In the regional tournament that year, the Cowgirls had three weightlifters with top finishes. Emma Willis placed fourth in snatch and sixth in traditional, while Mariannys Ramones placed fifth in traditional, and Aleah Baron placed sixth in traditional.
Next the Cowgirl weightlifters will be competing in the Manta Ray Invite at Lemon Bay High School on Jan. 7.
