CLEWISTON — The Clewiston Museum drew about 130 teachers to their Second Annual Teacher Appreciation & Welcome-Back Luncheon on Tuesday, Aug. 9. They enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by nine Clewiston restaurants, and won over 50 different door prizes, which included seven cash prizes totaling $1,100!
“Clewiston’s businesses and restaurants truly showed their support of and appreciation for the community’s teachers,” said Leigh Woodham, Director of the Clewiston Museum. “The amazing spread of food was all donated and there were generous financial sponsors and numerous door prize donors!”
The lunch included food, beverages and supplies donated by Beef O’ Brady’s, Common Grounds Coffee Shop, the Joe Whitehead for School Board Campaign, Julio’s Café Tropical, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mainstreet Subs & Pizza, Nisbet Enterprises’ McDonald’s, Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen, and Sonny’s BBQ.
Financial support was provided by Silver Star Sponsors ($250): Badcock Home Furniture & More, Everglades Federal Credit Union, U.S. Sugar, and Wedgworth’s, Inc., Bronze Star Sponsors ($100+): Depotrans of Clewiston LLC, First Bank, Glades Gas & Air Conditioning, the Joe Whitehead for School Board Campaign, Prestige Cleaning Services, Rawls Real Estate, and an anonymous donor.
