HENDRY COUNTY — In the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 24, 2023, while on routine patrol, Hendry County Deputy L. Rodriguez noticed two men in the area of a closed business and stopped them.
The two men identified as 31-year-old Anthony Cortez Dotson and 31-year-old Timothy Jackson were found to be in possession of narcotics. Both men were taken into custody on drug charges.
After taking Dotson into custody, deputies located a firearm in the pocket of his pants. It was later discovered that Dotson did not have a Florida Conceal Carry Permit and is also a convicted felon.
Anthony Cortez Dotson was arrested on charges of five counts of sale/deliver of synthetic narcotics with 1000 feet of specified area, trafficking phenethylamines 10 over 10 grams, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed firearm without permit, and possession of firearm by a Florida Convicted Felon. Dotson is currently being held in the Hendry County Jail on a $297,500 bond.
Timothy M. Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance without a prescription. Jackson was released on May 25, 2023, on a $5,000 bond.
