It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Gail Burnett, who departed this life on June 19, 2025, at the age of 69 years old. She passed away peacefully at Life Care Center of Port St. Lucie, surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy was born on May 1, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas to Billy and Winnie Burnett. She was a beloved parent and Nana and a cherished friend to many. She lived a life filled with compassion, kindness, and giving. She truly touched the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Cindy was known for her dedication to her community, quiet nature as she helped others, and constant support to those around her. She pursued many careers including housewife, mother, mortgage loan officer, and most recently property manager. Beyond her professional life, Cindy found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends.

Cindy will be deeply missed by her daughter, Holly Douthitt; her grandchildren, Zachary Merritt, Sydney, Ryann and William Santoro; her siblings Jeffery Burnett, Scott Burnett, Cherry Burnett, Kent and Judy Burnett and Chrystal and Mike Fontenot and a host of extended chosen family: Marilyn Brady, Allison Murphy, Karen DeHays, Dorothy Scopelitis, James Hishon, Twyla McGuins Case, and Norma Eddleman Harned. She was preceded in death by her son Jonathan Douthitt, her Mother Winnie Belle Presley, her father, Billy Marshall Burnett and her chosen family: Lin Pierce Watson, Julie Paul Smith and father figure, Frank Brady.

A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Cindy’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the humane society of your choice in Cindy Burnett’s honor.

Though she may be gone, Cindy’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved. May she rest in eternal peace.
