X-22 Adventures collects donations for tornado victims

Posted

OKEECHOBEE -- Last week, X-22 Adventures began organizing a drive to collect food, water, camping equipment, etc. to help victims of the recent tornadoes in Kentucky.  Saint Lucie County Sheriff's Office agreed to take those supplies, along with the supplies they were collecting, to Logan, Ky. The supplies arrived in Logan on Tuesday.

"We at X-22 Adventures are humbled by our community of Okeechobee Florida for their quick response in helping others in need. Thank you St. Lucie County S.O. for allowing us to partner with you to get supplies to the people of whom needs are much greater than ours. God bless the USA!" said Lori Cone, whose husband Steve Cone founded X-22 Adventures.

The following was posted on the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page:

"Tuesday December 21st, 2021, St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office arrived at the Logan County Extension Ag Arena with not one, but two semi-trailer trucks loaded with supplies for the tornado victims here in Logan County. Once the trucks arrived, volunteers all joined together to unload and separate the supplies while cars lined up outside the arena. The supplies received ranged from hygiene products, bottled water, clothing, kids’ toys, school supplies, cleaning items, heaters, and gift cards. The items were lined up and down the arena in separated categories and the tornado victims drove through the arena as volunteers loaded supplies into their vehicles. By the end of the night over 50 families came through the line.

"St. Lucie County FL, we will never be able to say thank you enough for the gratitude you all displayed. Logan County is overwhelmed by the support you all have given. In a recent news article published by My Treasure Coast Now, A Florida News Source, one of the sheriffs stated, “USA stands for United States of America,” he said. “It doesn’t say ‘Your State of America’ or ‘My State of America.’ And what a statement that is; the way the community and the country as a whole has come together in support of Kentucky is truly astounding.

"Thank you to the Logan County Cooperative Extension Service for their hospitality, thank you to the Russellville Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff's Office, thank you to the Ministerial Association, Life Choice Pregnancy Care Center, Logan County FRYSC and ALL volunteers who helped! A very big thank you to community members that came through the line and accepted the donations, we are praying for those affected by the devastating storms. Most of all thank you to our new friends of St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office."

Steve Cone said, "This is so awesome. I wasn’t the only one involved with this. My whole Crew at X-22 had a hand in this. I thank you, Lori Wells Cone, Bill Saum, Gail Saum, Heather Wonderly, Paul Haley, Mark Luther, Anthony Kibler for everything y’all did this past week in helping out. Seeing the end results makes all the hard work so worth it. Again thank you Saint Lucie SO for transporting everything to Kentucky."

Rena Davis, who lives in Logan said, "Not ashamed to say this made me cry!! You all have no idea, how touched we all are by your servants heart… I live in Logan Co, my Son is 16+ year Veteran LEO in Bowling Green, Ky. Our people have been thru Hell but because of those such as all of you, we are still very blessed. Wishing each of you, yours a wonderful Christmas."

X-22 Adventures was created to help veterans suffering from PTSD by getting them out on the water to relax and enjoy some fishing and time with other vets.
