OKEECHOBEE -- Cold weather is predicted this weekend.
Okeechobee County will open a warming center at RiteLife, 202 N.E. Second Street, this weekend. The warming center will open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, Saturday, Jan. 14 and Sunday, Jan. 15. It will stay open until outside temperatures warm up the following day.
During the last cold spell over Christmas weekend, 18 people used the warming center.
Saturday morning lows are predicted to be between 37 and 39 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sunday morming lows are predicted to be between 32 and 37 degrees.
Monday morning lows are predicted to be between 37 and 43 degrees.
Those who use the center are asked to bring their own bedding.
