OKEECHOBEE – Registration is open for the Third Annual First Responders Hookin’ Specks fishing tournament.
The event, sponsored by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office and the Glades County Sheriff’s Office, will raise money for Florida Sheriffs' Youth Ranches.
The tournament will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, starting at safe daylight, from the C. Scott Driver boat ramp, 10101 SR 78 West in Okeechobee.
Entry fee is $125 per boat. Entry fee in the biggest speck contest is $25.
First place wins $2,000; second place wins $1,500; third place wins $1,000; fourth place wins $500; fifth place wins $250.
Captains will meet on Friday, Feb 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the C. Scott Driver boat ramp.
