OKEECHOBEE – Big O Teen Anglers will host a free Kids Day of Fishing on July 19 at the Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center Pond, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event is open to children ages 5-18. Organizers will provide fishing poles and bait as well as refreshments.
Festivities will include games, educational activities and free giveaways throughout the day. The pond will be stocked with brim, bluegill and catfish.
Everything will be free of charge.
“This is our way of giving back to the community that helps us bring the passion for fishing to our local youth,” explained Danielle DeWitt of Big O Teen Anglers.
The entrance to the Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center is 4601 State Road 710.
