Suzanne Marie Summers Makinson FRANKLIN - 93, wife of 55 years to the late H. Nelson “Doc” Makinson, Jr, DVM, passed away on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024. Born October 8th, 1930, in Lakeland, Florida, Suzanne was the daughter of the late C.H. Summers, Sr, and Lois Overstreet Summers. Suzanne was a devoted wife, mother, and very active in her church. She was known for her gracious sharing of the love of Jesus. Suzanne is survived by her sons, David Makinson and wife Heidi of Sen-eca, South Carolina; John Makinson and wife Cathy of Martin, Georgia; daughters, Marilyn Harvey Brady of Okeechobee, Florida; Angie Makinson Critcher and husband James M. of Linden, Virginia; sixteen grandchildren, forty-nine great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, Suzanne is preceded in death by her brothers, C.H. Summers, Jr. and John Summers and a son in-law, Frank J. Brady. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at Franklin Cov-enant Church with a private burial to follow at Makinson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the service at Franklin Covenant Church. The family is at their respective homes.
