Hole in pavement appears in front of Emergency Operations Center

Posted

OKEECHOBEE Emergency Operations Center employees in Okeechobee County were startled to find a large hole in the middle of their driveway this weekend.

"There was a leak in a water main which washed out an area ," explained Okeechobee Utility Authority Executive Director John Hayford.

"The leak occurred at a water valve which is under repairs at this time.   Hopefully this should be repaired soo," he explained Monday.  "To my knowledge nobody is out of water nor was there any contamination of the system due to low pressure."
