OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee County School Board proudly dedicated the new Career and Technical Education (CTE) Building at Okeechobee High School (OHS) on April 21, 2025, marking a major milestone in the first phase of the OHS replacement construction project.
The state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot facility represents an $8 million investment in student achievement and workforce readiness. The CTE Building will serve as a hub for hands-on, career-focused education in high-demand fields. Among the programs housed in the facility are nursing, firefighting, emergency dispatch, automotive mechanics, building construction, and outboard marine service.
“This new building reflects our district’s commitment to preparing students for real-world success,” said Dylan Tedders, Superintendent of Schools. “By investing in modern, industry-relevant facilities, we are opening doors for our students to gain meaningful credentials and career experiences before they graduate.”
The dedication ceremony included a plaque unveiling attended by members of the Okeechobee County School Board, Superintendent Tedders, district leaders, representatives from Okeechobee High School, and partners from The Morganti Group (construction manager) and Clemons, Rutherford, and Associates (architectural firm).
This project marks the beginning of a multi-phase effort to replace and modernize Okeechobee High School, ensuring students and staff have access to safe, innovative, and future-ready learning environments.
OHS’s main campus construction projected is scheduled to welcome students in August 2026.
