The inaugural Okeechobee Art Fest will take place on Saturday, June 7 from 2-10 p.m. says event organizer Anita Nunez.
There will be approximately 16 booths devoted to the creative arts, ranging from painting to dance to drums. Nunez said she is especially excited about the children’s art competition. It is open to children from kindergarten to second grade. In addition to the competition, there will be activities for the kids and families to enjoy. If the festival goes well, Nunez plans to hold more throughout the year. Proceeds from the children's art work will be given to their classroom teachers.
