OKEECHOBEE — The Okeechobee Chamber of Commerce was proud to recognize Jessica Lea, Founder of Waves of Change Mental Health and Wellness Services, as this year’s recipient of the Community Leadership Award.
Jessica’s unwavering leadership, compassion, and dedication have made a profound impact on our community. Through her life-changing interventions, she has been a beacon of hope and strength for so many in Okeechobee.
In addition to her role at Waves of Change, Jessica also serves as the Mental Health Coordinator for the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office, where she has been instrumental in the success of the newly founded S.T.A.R. (Sheriff’s Trauma Assistance Response) Program.
This groundbreaking initiative is providing crucial mental health support to our deputies and staff, ensuring they have the resources to navigate the challenges of their demanding profession.
