Man found dead near Martin County mudfest site

MARTIN COUNTY -- Martin County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Detectives are investigating the death of a white male in his late 30s, found lying along the 26000 block of Martin Highway (CR 714, Martin Grade) just after 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.
 
The individual was found unresponsive and covered in blood.
 
The victim was located not far from a large "mudfest" gathering known as  Summer Sling 2025 at Plant Bamboo. Martin County detectives are treating the case as a homicide.
 
The cause and manner of death are pending and will be determined following an autopsy by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The individual’s identity will be released at a later date, pending proper notification of next of kin.
 
The Criminal Investigations Division is in the early stages of the investigation, which includes interviewing multiple witnesses.
 
Anyone who attended Mudfest and has information about this incident, or who may have witnessed any type of altercation at Mudfest or in the surrounding area, is asked to contact the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 772-220-7060, or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers.
