In Loving Memory of James Wayne Burton. James, a devoted father, grandfather, educator, and counselor, passed away leaving behind a legacy of compassion, wisdom, and service. He is survived by his three loving children, Kim Smith, Heather Burton and Joshua Burton, as well as several adult grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His presence in their lives was a constant source of strength, guidance, and unconditional love.

Throughout his career as an educator and counselor, James touched countless lives with his patient ear and thoughtful advice. He believed deeply in the power of education and the importance of supporting others through life’s challenges. Whether in a classroom, counseling office, or community event, he was known for his dedication and generous spirit.

James Wayne Burton was a man who gave freely of his time and attention, always willing to lend a hand or share a kind word. His warmth, humor, and strength endeared him to many, and his absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and the entire community. He leaves behind not only memories, but also an enduring example of a life well lived in service to others.

A reception of friends and family will be held at Buxton Bass funeral home, Friday the 27th, from 1:00 to 3:00.
