Healthy Start announces relaunch of Motherhood Unfiltered support groups

With new free Kids’ Group starting this July

Posted

OKEECHOBEE — Okeechobee Healthy Start is excited to announce the relaunch of community Motherhood Unfiltered support groups, led by Jessica Lea, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, starting this July. These monthly sessions are completely voluntary, free, and open to the public to provide a safe, supportive space where new and experienced moms can come together to feel seen, heard, and empowered as they share their experiences and support one another.

The Motherhood Unfiltered group will meet every second Tuesday of the month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at 103 SW Third Ave. in Okeechobee.

To make participation easier for families, a free kids’ group, facilitated by Megan Clements, Counselor, LMHC, ACAS, QS, will be held at the same time and location. This kids’ group offers a fun and welcoming environment for children while their moms attend the support session. Both sessions will run concurrently and are completely free of charge.

Translation services will be available upon request. We will continue to monitor the community needs and may add additional sessions or a Spanish-language group if the need is present. Our first Motherhood Unfiltered session will take place on Tuesday, July 8. This program offers a wonderful opportunity for mothers living in our community to connect, receive professional guidance, and build a supportive network — all while their little ones are being supported and cared for nearby in a playful and supportive atmosphere.

All moms in the community are encouraged to take advantage of this valuable resource. For more information or to request translation services, please contact
Maribel Martinez at Okeechobee Healthy Start, phone: 863-462-5877 ext. 2001, or email: events@okeehealthystart.org.
