When schools close for the summer, thousands of kids lose access to free and reduced-cost breakfast and lunch. Many families struggle with their household budgets to cover these additional expenses.
To help bridge the gap, Treasure Coast Food Bank is happy to announce the return of its Summer Meals Program, providing free, freshly prepared nutritious meals to children and teens aged 18 and under throughout the summer months.
Beginning Tuesday, June 3, through Friday, August 8, meals will be available at convenient locations across the Treasure Coast. The Food Bank expects to serve more than 2,000 kids each day, providing tens of thousands of healthy meals this summer.
“Summer should be a time of fun and growth,” said Judith Cruz, President and CEO of Treasure Coast Food Bank. “We are proud to provide this vital resource to families across our community.”
In collaboration with community partners, meal sites are located at community centers, churches, libraries, summer camps, and other trusted neighborhood locations. Families can find the nearest site by visiting stophunger.org/summermeals.
Meals are freshly prepared daily in Treasure Coast Food Bank’s Production Kitchen.
Treasure Coast Food Bank continues to expand the number of Summer Meals sites throughout the season and encourages families to check back regularly for updates.
