OKEECHOBEE — In a vibrant celebration of community spirit and camaraderie, the Family Dentistry of Okeechobee proudly hosted its annual Pickleball Tournament at the Starlite RV Park and Resort on March 8. This spirited event, organized by the Pickleball Club under the leadership of Director Claude Gravel, brought together over 50 enthusiastic participants from surrounding parks, including The Heritage, The Oasis, and Silverpalms, all rallying to support a worthy cause — the Voices of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee.

The tournament not only showcased the entertaining sport of pickleball but also highlighted the compassionate commitment of local businesses to support our community’s children. Generous sponsorship from businesses such as Sublime, ProGraphics, and Davis Chiropractic played a pivotal role in the tournament’s success, allowing the proceeds to go directly toward providing vital resources and assistance to hundreds of abused, neglected, and abandoned children in our area.

“It’s heartwarming to see our community come together for such an important cause,” says Claude Gravel. “Through this tournament, we not only promoted the wonderful sport of pickleball but also raised awareness and funds for children who need our help the most. It was a beautiful blend of sport and support.”

Families, friends, and fans filled the courts, cheering on the players under the bright Florida sun. The excitement of competition was only surpassed by the collective spirit of giving, as all proceeds from the event went directly to supporting the invaluable services provided by Voices of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee.

As the sun set on a day filled with friendly competition, laughter, and love, it was evident that the impact of the tournament reached far beyond the courts. Together, we are making strides toward creating a safer and brighter future for our children.
