OKEECHOBEE — On Thursday Nov. 2, the Okeechobee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented a commemorative flag and certificate to the Okeechobee Vietnam Veterans in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. Each veteran was given a lapel pin and certificate and wives of deceased veterans were given a commemorative pin. Pictured are the officers of the VVA and ladies of the DAR. From left to right are Denise Elders, Marvin Singleton, Jim Craig, President of VVA Lonnie Kirsch, Regent of DAR Lori Howard, and Letta Jordan, honorary regent of DAR. Denise, Lori and Letta are all wives of Vietnam Veterans, so this event had special meaning for them. [Courtesy photo]
