Special to Lake Okeechobee News
The City of Okeechobee Honors the Legacy of Former Public Works Maintenance Foreman Palmer Cleveland Lamb.
It is with deep respect and heartfelt sorrow the City announces the passing of Cleveland, who served our community with distinction as a member of our Public Works crew for 44 Years.
Palmer Cleveland Lamb died May 31,2025. He was born on Aug. 22, 1942 in Okeechobee, Florida. A lifelong resident of Okeechobee, he was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He retired from the City of Okeechobee Public Works Department after 44 years of hard work and dedication. He loved fishing, tinkering in his shed, and anything that allowed him to get his hands dirty.
Cleveland loved people and helping them learn about the Bible. He loved his family and always said the best 46 years were spent married to his best friend. He was a loving, devoted dad but his true pride was becoming Papa to his three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Cheryl Lamb; parents, Palmer and Hattie Lamb; brothers, Maurice Lamb, Melvin Lamb, and Leonard Lamb; and sisters, Irene Arnold, Bradie Perez, and Meredith Jolly.
He is survived by his daughters, Marie Figueroa (David) and Bonnie Palacios (Raonel), all of Okeechobee, Florida; three grandsons, Alex Figueroa, Devin Figueroa and Elijah Palacios; brother, Robert Carter, of Lakeland, Florida; sister, Judy Bailey, of Crossville, Tennessee; and many nieces, nephews, and friends he thought of as family.
Service will be held at a later date.
