OKEECHOBEE – Chesaco RV, 4300 U.S. 441 South, held a Spring Showcase Block Party on May 10. Local partners included Gilbert Ford and Garrards Bait and Tackle Shop.

Manager Blane Henry said during the summer business is slow, and they wanted to get other businesses together.  “We can all help each other help the community,” he said.

Chesaco RV, a family-owned business, has been in Okeechobee about 18 months. They also have stores in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Stuart. Henry said they have done some remodeling of the Okeechobee facility and have a full parts store.

“We have some great staff,” he added.

Pam Douglas, who runs the parts store, has been in the RV business for 26 years.

The parts store is getting ready for hurricane season, stocking up on electrical converters, sewer hoses, surge protectors and adapters for generations.

“We also have a full line of propane items,” she added.

“We can special order any parts or items people can’t find anywhere else,” Douglas explained. “People can bring their units here for service and any tech work that needs to be done.”

The business is located on the former site of Florida Outdoors, just south of the Okeechobee KOA.
