OKEECHOBEE -- In honor of Veterans Day, banners on display in downtown Okeechobee recognize Okeechobee Hometown Heroes.
This is the third year that Okeechobee Main Street has sponsored the tribute to honor past and present members of the Armed Forces.
The banner program was open to honor active duty, past or deceased honorably-discharged military personnel of the United States who live or have lived in Okeechobee County.
Applications for the 58 banners were accepted on a "first come" basis.
Veterans Day services in Okeechobee are planned for Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in Flagler Park.
