CLEWISTON -- A Hialeah man was killed on U.S. 27 on Sept. 12, after he was ejected from his vehicle in a crash.
The accident happened at approximately 1:35 p.m., according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
According to the FHP report, vehicle 1, a truck driven by a 49-year-old Hialeah man was traveling west on the outside lane of US 27, east of Air Glades Boulevard. Vehicle 2, a pickup truck with trailer, carrying heavy machinery, was traveling east, on the outside lane of US 27, west of vehicle 1.
“The front left tire of vehicle 1 became detached. Vehicle 1 traveled across the center median and entered the eastbound lane/path of vehicle 2. The front of vehicle 1 collided with the left side trailer portion of vehicle 2 and the guardrail. Driver 1 was ejected from vehicle 1 and pronounced deceased on scene. The crash remains under investigation,” the report states.
The driver of the pickup truck received minor injuries, according to the report.
