CLEWISTON – Olde Florida RV Park in LaBelle has plans for expansion.

At the June 10 meeting of the Hendry County Board of Commissioners, Scott Wagner said the project is very large and had some hiccups.

“One of our greatest failures this year has been food service,” said Wagner. “I have entered into an agreement to purchase and locate a new 1950s-style diner on the front of the property, on the 4-acre out parcel. This is a project I set an end date of Dec. 20.

“We have large groups coming in starting Jan. 1,” he added.

He said they discovered there weren’t any restaurants near to the park and

We are discovering in our park, but the entrance there aren’t restaurants nearby. We have competition in other areas with restaurants nearby.

He said he would like to put a hotel on a larger out parcel. Another potential idea is for a small water park.
